Cross country skier's paradise
Olos is a paradise for cross-country skiers, but it also offers a magnificent setting for downhill skiing: there are 10 groomed slopes. The cross-country track network in Olos totals 250 km in the varied terrain in the splendid landscapes of Olostunturi fell, Lake Särkijärvi, Lake Jerisjärvi and Muonio. The highlight of the ski season is the annual Lapponia cross-country skiing race which is held in the most magnificent landscapes with the most challenging tracks. Shorter races and races for children are also available. The price-giving ceremony is famous around Lapland!
The first snow track will open on Monday, October 28, 2024.
The slopes will reopen on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 4 PM.

Skiing on the Olos early season snow track begins on 28.10.2024.
The early season snow track, made from stored snow, is about 3 km long. The track has a demanding profile. During the day, the track and the biathlon shooting range are actively used by national teams and other competitive skiers. The least busy times on the track are around 12.00–14.00 and 18.00–20.00.
The track requires a fee 28.10.–24.11.2024. Track passes can be purchased from the Lapland Hotels Olos reception starting Monday 28.10.2024.
The track will be reserved for competitive skiers during the FIS Olos Snowmaking Competition 15.–17.11. The final training sessions before the race weekend will take place on Wednesday 13.11. and Thursday 14.11., and the track will be free for competitors on those days.
Ticket Options and Prices
- Day Pass: €40 or €20 for those staying at registered accommodation in Muonio
- Season Pass: €200 or €100 for those staying at registered accommodation in Muonio
- Season Pass for Muonio residents: €50
- Afternoon Pass: €10, valid from 12:00–14:00
- Evening Pass: €5, valid from 18:00–20:00
Prices are subject to change.
Early season snow track passes are available at Lapland Hotels Olos reception, and used passes must always be returned there. Tickets are sold from 08:00–20:00. If tickets are being purchased for multiple people, a name list must be sent to the hotel’s email in advance; one person will pick up and pay for the tickets.
Track passes must always be clearly visible on the right arm. Track supervisors will stop skiers without passes, so please ensure a smooth skiing experience. The early season snow track cannot be used as a transfer route to natural snow trails.
The paid season continues until 24.11.2024 at 20.00.
