Lapland Hotel Kilpis is a base for adventurers, winter and summer fishers and hikers. It’s surrounded by the highest peaks in our country and close to the amazing “alp scenery”. Our hotel is located in a magnificent landscape, right next to the Kilpisjärvi-lake, near Saana. Our skiing season lasts until midsummer and a helicopter will take the bravest to conquer the mountains if needed! We recommend adding a visit to Norway to your Kilpisjärvi holiday.
People come to Kilpis either charmed by the scenery, or crazy about a hobby. The fells call long distance skiers and off slope skiers in the winter. At the end of the day, a sauna and an ice swim are so refreshing. In the summer, Lapland Hotel Kilpis serves not only hikers and fishers, but also those on road-trips by car or motorbike
Check-in is at 4 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon.
Please contact the reception if you would like to request a late check-out. The extra fee for a late check-out is 25€ until 2 p.m.
Our breakfast is built around authentic Nordic cuisine and natural ingredients and is served every morning from 8 a.m. to 10.30 a.m.
Breakfast is included in the room rate for guests staying with us. The price of the breakfast for diners not staying at our hotel is 18€ /person, children 4–12 years old for 9€ /person.
Our lakeside saunas are heated every day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Men and women have separate saunas. The saunas are free of charge for guests staying at our hotel. In the summer, you can swim in the lake and in the winter, you can go ice swimming.
People not staying at our hotel are also welcome to our saunas for a fee of 10€ per person.
Lakeside sauna rental 50€/h 1-4 pax, additional persons 10€.
We are easy to reach by car. There are plenty of parking spaces in the yard of the hotel, free of charge. Heating outlets are also available.
Do you drive an electric car?
In the hotel courtyard, there is also a paid electric car charging point, charging based on consumption.
The charging point has a maximum power of 11–22 kW, and it is suitable for charging all fully electric cars and plug-in hybrids.
You need to bring your own Type 2 cable suitable for charging. Detailed instructions on how to use the charging point can be found at the pole. For technical inquiries related to charging points, you can contact Plugit.
The charging station can be used by registered Plugit users or through the one-time payment service pay.plugitcloud.com. You can register as a user at www.plugitcloud.com or by downloading the Plugit Cloud application. The hotel shop at our reception is open whenever the reception is open and sells beverages, souvenirs and gifts.
Extra beds are available in some of our rooms. Ask about the possibility of an extra bed in our hotel.
For guests under the age of 4, cots are available free of charge for all room types. Cots need to be booked in advance.
Our hotel also has pet friendly rooms available for an extra fee of 20 € per accommodation. Check availability with the hotel.
Free wi-fi is available to our guests in the entire hotel building and the hostel. The holiday apartments do not have wi-fi.
As our guest, you can book Lapland Safaris’ programme services and rental equipment directly from the hotel.

The apartments at Lapland Hotels Kilpis are available for winter rentals from December 1, 2024, to March 19, 2025. The hotel is otherwise closed, meaning no restaurant or reception services are available (apartments are rented without breakfast, and keys are accessed via a lockbox at the hotel’s front door). All apartments include a kitchen and shower, with some featuring a private sauna. The lakeside saunas are also closed for the winter season and are not available for private rental. Apartments are available exclusively through our online store, and bookings must be made at least 3 days in advance.
