Kittilä Airport: Levintie 259, 99100 Kittilä

Kittilä Airport is only half an hour away from Ylläs. Ylläsjärvi-lake is about 40km away. The direct flight from Helsinki to Kittilä takes 1.5 hours. Finnair and Norwegian fly to Kittilä Airport.

There’s a bus that runs from the airport to both villages. The airport bus operates from all domestic flights between Äkäslompolo - Ylläsjärvi - Kittilä Airport - Ylläsjärvi - Äkäslompolo during the high-season and from May to August, as requested. Reservations should be made at least one day before your flight, at the latest. Taxis are located right outside the airport doors and will bring you directly to the main entrance of the hotel. You can book your transportation from Levi taxi service beforehand, by calling +358 (0) 200 99800.

ARRIVING BY TRAIN?

Kolari Railway Station: Asematie 7, 95900 Kolari

Kolari Railway Station is located approximately 35km from Ylläs. If you arrive by car train, continue in the direction of Ylläsjärvi (road 80) from the station. Continue driving until you reach Ylläsjärvi village. The road to Yllästunturi turns left at the center of the village. Drive straight (leave at the first junction of the roundabout.) Drive until the end of the road and the hotel will be on your left, on the same side as the fell.

There are buses going from the Kolari Railway Station to Ylläs. The drive from Kolari takes about half an hour. Check for more detailed timetables here!

If you arrive to the hotel by taxi from the railway station, the taxi stop is near the main entrance of the railway station.

ARRIVING BY CAR?

When you arrive by car we’re located close to the treeline of Ylläs fell, at: Iso-Ylläksentie 42, 95980 Ylläsjärvi.

If you come from the south, from the direction of Tornio on the E8 road, turn to road number 80 (Kustakontie) at Kolari. Continue following the signs to Ylläsjärvi. When you arrive the Ylläsjärvi village, turn left toward Iso-Ylläsjärvi (9401). Continue driving for a few kilometers until you reach a roundabout. Turn off at the first junction of the roundabout and continue for a little under two kilometers until you arrive to Lapland Hotel Saaga. The hotel is on the left side of the road at the tree line of the fell.

You can park the car near the front door, making checking in easier. Depending on the location of your accommodation, you may park your car to other public “P-areas” of the hotel. Ask the hotel for possible heating electricity sockets.
