Lapland War movie in Olos

The film's events are set in Lapland in the fall of 1944, during the conflict between Finland and Germany at the end of World War II. Young soldier Heikki fights on the Karelian Isthmus with his friend Pauli. Joining the company is Arvo, released from prison, whose worldview challenges others' perceptions of war and duty. The armistice raises hope for returning home, but soon it becomes clear that Finland must turn against its former German allies in Lapland. Meanwhile, in Rovaniemi, Saara, working as a translator for the Germans, must choose her future: stay in Finland or flee to Germany with her lover, Major Duisberg. The Lapland War is a story heavily based on the human experiences of its characters, portraying people caught in the midst of historic upheavals. Amidst the horrors of war, they seek meaning, humanity, and forgiveness – and ask how grace can be found in a ruthless environment.
