In winter, you can enjoy the warmth of Rovaniemi's best sauna and refresh yourself in the cold waters of the Kemijoki River! The legendary Summer Restaurant & Sauna has expanded its operations in winter to become WNTR Sauna, offering a cozy lounge for both local residents and visitors traveling to the north.
The sauna is located next to the Ounasvaara ski resort by the banks of the Kemijoki River, just a five-minute drive from Rovaniemi city center. The restaurant and sauna can be found in the grounds of Lapland Hotels Ounasvaara Chalets by the river.
Pricing and reservations
WNTR Sauna will open its doors for the winter season on Wednesday 6.11.2024. Our reservation calendar is already open!
Entrance fees:
Adults: €24–28
Children (under 12): €13–14
The entrance fee includes access to the sauna, ice swimming area, fireplace area, and Lapland Hotels slippers. The sauna visit lasts a maximum of 1,5 hours. Children are welcome in sauna sessions until 18.00. You can easily reserve a sauna session through the saunat.fi website.
Series tickets
We also sell 10-entry series tickets for €234. Those who purchase a series ticket must also reserve their visits through the saunat.fi website, using the code received upon purchase.
Note: It is also possible to visit the area without using the sauna for €15 per person. Access to the area cannot be reserved in advance; payment is made on-site only.
Sauna experience and ice swimming
The heart of WNTR Sauna is a large wood-heated sauna, and it’s no wonder it has been dubbed Rovaniemi's best sauna spot! An ice swimming area has also been opened next to the sauna. The sauna can accommodate up to 24 people at a time. There are separate changing and shower facilities for women and men. In the unisex sauna, swimwear is required, which we can rent for you if needed. Please bring your own towel.
Private Sauna Session?
The sauna can be reserved for private use outside of regular hours, on Mondays and Tuesdays or on open days before 14.00) for €680 for 2 hours, accommodating a maximum of 20 people. Additional hours are €200 each.
You can also reserve the sauna for private use during public sauna sessions if there are no other reservations for that session. In this case, the charge will be based on a minimum of 12 participants, even if there are fewer attendees.

Campfire and reindeer goulash soup
Food and drinks are available for purchase to enjoy in the sauna's lounge area or at the campfire. Warm reindeer goulash soup is offered, along with reindeer sausage or glögi-spiced marshmallows that can be roasted at the campfire. The restaurant container, campfire area, and sauna have a liquor license, so bringing your own food is not allowed on the premises.
